In February, Black History Month, the history and culture of Black and Afro-diasporic communities is being remembered. Dance plays an important role in various Black communities as a resistant practice for the liberation of colonial oppression of Black bodies. In cooperation with the afro-Festival Heidelberg, zwinger x is organizing an Afro Fusion dance workshop with Naemi Makiadi. The workshop is not limited exclusively to Afrobeats as a dance and music style, but uses Afro Fusion to convey different musical and dance influences from the African continent and its diaspora. Dancer Naemi Makiadi wants to give participants the opportunity to understand their bodies and the music in its diverse origins.
