It’s the year 2024: Europe is facing a shift to the right and on an international level, autocracies dominate the scene. What seems to be at stake is nothing less but the survival of democracies. Add the worries related to climate change and the outlook seems pretty ominous: »All about me. Kein Leben nach mir« (All about me. No life after me) shines a light on how each and every one of us reacts to this overload of disasters. People retreat into their bourgeois personal lives and focus on themselves, their emotional well-being and self-optimisation. Theatre maker Martin Gruber starts out with a ludicrous, comical parade of vanity, and reflects on what the outside world actually has to do with each of us.

In light of the insecurities of our society and the fact that our lives’ dreams are challenged by the 21st century’s turbo capitalism, aktionstheater ensemble has been developing their own approach to theatre for many years, hitting the audience right at the solar plexus. Recently awarded the Austrian Kunstpreis, the company focuses first and foremost on people’s individual hopes and longings.
