Mark and Malte play. Mostly online. But also in reality: They play with their identities, their emotional state and their relationship status. Mark has lost a lot of money and even more time playing an online game where pirate fleets try to sink other ships. The player can rise to become king of the fleets and earn glory and recognition. But what he is really best at, is running away from reality.
Kristo Šagor plays as well. He plays with tenses, levels of storytelling and the audience. What starts out with gaming, takes a detour to mental health and ends with love. How does that work? Quite simple. How does it feel? Pretty heavy. Because there are no easy answers. But a perspective. Which is that things are always easier to manage together rather than alone. Sometimes you have to go and sometimes you have to stay. Life is not a game. There is no silver bullet tactic. But just like games, life keeps springing surprises on us. And just like this play. What do we run away from, when we play? And for whom do we put on a show?
