»Synapsen« focuses on the phase when defining neuronal and social connections form. Sending, presenting yourself, asserting yourself, who will win? Caught up in the rush of creating your own self, we assert ourselves until we believe ourselves. Warning, synapse overload: Incurable insecurity meets indestructible self-confidence. Based on this overwhelming simultaneousness of exploding events, three dancers reflect on the rewiring effect this has on our brains. They form and destroy connections, get in each others’ way and goad each other. As adults, we think that once puberty is over, we’re done with the worst part but really it’s only the beginning. So: Get used to it!
