Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
by Tennessee Williams
Marguerre-Saal
[recommended for ages 14 and up]
Big Daddy is dying. He has cancer, though he doesn’t know it yet. For one last time, his family comes together to celebrate his 65th birthday. One last time, they play happy family. But behind the scenes, the fight to take over his company is already in full swing.
Gooper, a successful lawyer, thinks he has the best chances of inheriting it. Until he realises that he is still overshadowed by his little brother Brick, Big Daddy’s favourite son. Brick meanwhile has no intentions of succeeding his father. Since his best friend died, he has been killing his pain with alcohol. Margaret, Brick’s wife, comes from a modest background and knows what it takes to make it to the top. Margaret is the »cat on the hot tin roof« and she will make use of her claws.
As part of theatre+, performances of »Cat on a Hot Tin Roof« will be surtitled in English. If you wish to use the surtitles, please choose seats in rows 4 to 18 in the stalls or seats in the balcony. The surtitles are not easily readable from the first three rows of the stalls due to the stage layout.
