Bodies of Water
by Iván Pérez
Marguerre-Saal
The majority of our body and of our planet consists of water, an element that is elixir of life and rare commodity at the same time. In his latest dance play, Iván Pérez, Artistic Director of Dance Theatre Heidelberg, focuses on the multifaceted relationship between humans and water. His choreographic journey takes him deep into the physical and emotional power of this element and poses basic questions: Who are we in relation to water? Which connections shape our existence with this essential element of life? How can bodies of water become an inspiration for dance and choreography?
An artistic team of well-acquainted participants turns this vision into reality: Composer Rutger Zuydervelt creates a complex sound landscape, set artist Yoko Seyama designs a visual world and Naomi Kean makes the costume design fit in seamlessly.
As part of theater+, select performances will include audio-descriptions in German.
