Shot

A bird? A fox? A shooting star? What is it? Just shoot it, to be on the safe side. And then forget, intoxicated by the strange juice dripping thickly from the ceiling. In her play »Shot«, author Özlem Özgül Dündar has invented a world of contradiction: her figures are devoured by extreme physical states full of desire, excess and loneliness. The boundary between human and human – or what is left of humans – is unsurmountable. Language and body obsessively revolve around the fear of being and staying alone. Words seek out connections, and relentlessly inscribe themselves into the bodies. Beyond language, however, there is a world that is hard as stone waiting for us under the anti-missile system, a place where survival means pulling the trigger faster than whatever unknown is lying in wait out there, ready to attack at any moment.
»Shot« will be premiered as part of Remmidemmi. The Resistance Festival and can be seen on 7., 8. and 9. October 2022 at Route 3: Pie Throwers.
