Kommando Artemis '74
»1968 in Heidelberg was: a beginning, a departure, an eye-opener.« The ten participants of the FRAUEN*club embarked on a journey into Heidelberg's feminist past: Back to the women's movement of the early 1970s, which developed from the 1968 movement. From discussions about self-determined sexuality in self-awareness groups to the planning of protest actions against abortion paragraph 218 and the search for a safe place for women* affected by domestic violence: »I think there was such a whirring in the air. This feminist whirring that was quite pronounced in Heidelberg.« Based on interviews with women* who lived in Heidelberg in the 1970s and helped shape the women's movement, the theatre club participants tell a story about five determined women* who, with the fighting spirit of Amazon warriors, occupied the former women's centre in the Plöck in 1974 to save it from imminent demolition.
The performance is held in German.
