BEEEEE

Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony no. 5 in C Minor op. 67

Concert
Alter Saal
Conductor

The famous »ta-ta-ta-taaaaa« is rather unspectacular. And destiny is definitely not knocking on your door, as Beethoven’s biographer Schindler proposes. It’s not a musical theme either, it’s more like a motive: ensconced in the flow of a melody, carried out strictly according to rhythm. The way Beethoven uses this musical nucleus is quite simply genius. He has the incredible ability to create a complex world out of seemingly unimportant things, fascinating listeners with its coherence and inner logic.
