Panel discussion and conversation on the topic of body image with the queer feminist collective
Zwinger 1
Body positivity originally describes a movement that advocates for the acceptance and love of all bodies. It is an attitude, whether private or public, that describes an appreciative view of the diversity of our society. However, through marketing and consumerism, body positivity has also developed a new kind of pressure to conform to beauty and performance standards. But what is a body that can be described as positive? What is ideal, what is normal? And who gets to decide?!
In cooperation with the Queerfeminist Collective Heidelberg, we want to explore how bodies and physicality are currently perceived in our society in a panel discussion followed by smaller discussion groups, and ask: Who does my body belong to in this society?
