T-Rex, Are you Sad? (Does Your T Stand for Tears?)
by Fayer Koch / Direction: Benedikt Grubel / Theater der Jungen Welt Leipzig
The world is coming to an end. An asteroid strike wipes out (almost) all the dinosaurs, leaving behind nothing but mist and dust. However, a new world begins for Nagg, who in the midst of the apocalypse hatches from an egg as a T-Rex. Nagg grows up with the only surviving dinosaurs, Babsi and Päm. Since the asteroid strike, Päm has been vigilant in constant fear for the next catastrophe, whilst Babsi loses herself in archiving every tiny trace of the past. However, Nagg doesn’t know any »then«; Nagg only knows »now«. When Nagg asks the two of them what the world was like before the asteroid strike, the adult dinosaurs block her questions. Dinosaurs have to be strong, tough it out, and they can’t cry anyway. When Nagg meets a group of busy little creatures emerging from dusty holes in the ground, these truths turn upside down. They sing, howl and help Nagg understand himself and the world in a new way.
