Bis morgen, du Schöne

The 13 members of the FRAUEN*club look back at life in the GDR through Maxie Wander’s 1977 novel »Guten Morgen, du Schöne«. In this collection of recorded conversations, women had a chance to speak with the author in the late 1970s about topics such as love, sexuality, motherhood and work, speaking openly about their fears, dreams and desires. The FRAUEN*club explores the lived reality of women who had to find their place in a system characterised by surveillance, manipulation and propaganda. The novel excerpts are complemented by contemporary texts by the author Sofie Morin. What experiences do we share from a contemporary perspective? Where is my place? And what’s my story, anyway?
