Fibonacci

The Fibonacci series is considered nature’s secret code: it inscribes its spirals into galaxies, orders the seeds of the sunflower and the scales of fir cones. Dance also emerges where humans breathe between order and disorder. Every movement grows from the previous movement, carries memories and unfolds like the numbers of the Fibonacci series. Simplicity becomes diversity, repetition garners meaning.

This encounter of Sofia Nappi and Lucas Valente brings together two contrasting choreography styles. »Fibonacci« marks the beginning of a new focus in Dance Heidelberg’s programme: Aspiring international choreographers develop new works together with Heidelberg’s dance company, giving a grand stage to the diversity of contemporary dance styles.
