Prima Facie
The award-winning solo piece »Prima Facie« centres on Tessa, a successful barrister who defends men who are charged with sexualised violence. When she herself becomes the victim of an attack and files a report, Tessa experiences the legal system from the victim’s point of view. The criminal defence lawyer becomes a witness whose statement is cast into doubt.
This globally successful play comes to Heidelberg in a production by Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. Actor Lou Strenger (familiar from »Tatort«, »heute-show« and others) gives an impressive insight into how patriarchal structures affect the legal system, and what reforms are called for.
