MEMENTO ODESA

Sebastian Studnitzky (trumpet & piano), winner of the OPUS Klassik and ECHO Jazz awards, is one of Europe’s most fascinating musical personalities. Together with the Odessa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (conducted by Volodymyr Dykyi) and his band, he will be touring once again in 2026 with his unique project ‘Memento Odesa’.
‘Memento Odesa’ was composed by Sebastian Studnitzky himself and is a work that bridges worlds: classical music meets jazz elements, orchestral depth meets the intimacy of chamber music, and emotional power meets sonic beauty. Studnitzky, known for his soundscapes blending classical, jazz and electronic music, and the world-class orchestra from Odesa are creating something unique together – a modern classical tribute to the city of Odesa and its people, who are suffering under Russia’s war of aggression.

What began in 2023 as a spontaneous musical act – three works, recorded live at the Odessa Philharmonic Hall in the midst of the war as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Ukraine – has developed into one of Germany’s most moving concert projects. The 2026 winter tour is already the fifth joint tour of Germany with the Odessa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Two albums have since been recorded and released together in Berlin. What began as a gesture has become a musical event attracting international attention. The proceeds from the tour will be donated to aid projects for Ukraine.
