Bodily harm, material damage, a destroyed work of art and an occupied university: In a world populated by humanoid animals, a statue made of ivory is newly erected on a university campus and triggers a heated debate that results in excesses. In the police investigation room, the police horse is questioning potential suspects to find out the truth – the university rector, students, the artist who created the statue and the minister of education. What unfolds is not only a web of potential and apparent motives, but also a range of different perspectives on the same questions: At what point does freedom of the arts approach (re-)traumatization? How are differences highlighted by identity (politics)? Is violence a legitimate means of resistance? How can educational reform punch holes into the classism that dominates society? Taking in two temporal levels, »Teeth and Claws« tells an exciting story around the political implications of one carelessly erected statue.
