Six performers of various backgrounds challenge the conventions to transcend imposed social logic in an immersive performance. Inspired by Octavia Butler’s science fiction novel »Parable of the sower«, they are bodies that encourage us to imagine and explore other worlds with their singular poetics and approach. Abandoned and worn objects found in the surroundings of different rural areas of Catalonia, where the creation process took place, constitute the landscape of »Orthopedica Corporatio«. The piece took on a new form when it was revived in Taiwan with Dance Forum Taipei. Organic and inorganic items, with various forms and textures, persuade the dancers to interact and discover different realities.

Marina Mascarell is a choreographer based in the Netherlands. Associated Artist at Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona since 2018 and Resident Choreographer at Korzo Theatre in The Hague between 2011-2021. Beside her independent work, she has also been commissioned to create pieces by different institutions such as GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Biennale de la Danse of Lyon with Lyon Opera Ballet, Skanes Dansteater, Nederlands Dans Theater among others. She has been recognized and awarded with several prizes along her career such as BNG Excellent Dans Award 2015.
