Graces
Silvia Gribaudi
Marguerre-Saal
Inspired by Antonio Canova’s statue »The Three Graces«, Silvia Gribaudi’s piece »Graces« revolves around the question of beauty and its true form. Playing with reality and fiction, Silvia and the other three dancers on stage leave well-known ideals behind and question the obvious. In light of Canova’s neoclassical ideal of beauty, proportion and measure, they explore normative rules in dance in an honest yet ironic manner.
In her work, Silvia Gribaudi combines dance with performance art and theatre. For the creation of her performances, she works with links between cultural and social structures, which results in an encounter of dance and irony. Exploring the body and dialogic interaction and the relationship with the audience also play an important role in her work.
