When we think of bodies, we think of healthy, thin, pure and here in Europe, white bodies. However, this image does not correspond to reality. Our bodies are diverse. Often we only find a very distorted view of our own body. In the workshop »OUR DEEP HATRED AGAINST THE SCHWABBEL« the artist and activist Carmen Westermeier tries to collectively work through the extent of structural and internalized hatred against fat and thick bodies and to break down encrusted stereotypes through creative strategies of action. The history of fatphobia will be illuminated and examined for the intersection of race, class, and gender.

A two hour workshop will be followed by Carmen Westermeier's lecture performance »IMAGINE«, in which she looks at her own path and contrasts the role of the naked female body in a capitalist society with her own body in a socially critical way.
