The years 1932/1933 saw one of the greatest humanitarian disasters of the 20th century: The »Holodomor« (murder by starvation) – a little known crime perpetrated by the Soviet Union in the Ukraine that claimed the lives of several million people who starved to death. With testimonies, journalistic reports and official statements, these performance artists tell the story so that it won’t be forgotten. Inspired by Soviet history panoramas, the play presents visual contexts in pictures and time lines, showing the personal and political backgrounds. The result is a theatric panorama to the beat of electronic sounds and live singing, making the manipulation of history perceptible.
