2nd Family Concert
Into the city, through the fields – landscapes in music
Marguerre-Saal
We perceive our surroundings primarily through sight. It is obvious that the urban jungle with all its honking, squealing, pounding and roaring produces many sounds and is therefore perfectly suited to be set to music. But sometimes composers set things to music that, at first glance, make no noise at all. Then music is created that almost seems like a painting - because what about other landscapes: wide fields, rough coasts, dark forests ... How do they sound in music? What sounds and noises could inspire composers here? These questions will be explored in the 2nd Family Concert.
