Important information about attending the Festival

Cancelling an event due to weather conditions

The organiser reserves the right to postpone the start of any open-air event due to weather conditions, to interrupt the event or to move the location to a place sheltered from the rain. In case the location of an event is moved from the Schlosshof (Castle’s Courtyard) to the Königssaal (King’s hall) due to weather conditions until up to 30 minutes after the start, you will only be admitted with tickets in categories I and II. If you have a ticket in category III or IV, you are eligible to receive a refund for up to one week after the event at any advance booking box office. In case the event is cancelled more 30 minutes after it started, no refund will be granted, as is usual for open-air events.

Please bear in mind the following information:

  • Tickets that have been bought cannot be returned.
  • You can pay with cash or EC card at the castle’s box office.
  • There is no late seating or refund if you arrive after the event has already started.
  • There is not access for wheelchairs to the Dicker Turm (Fat Tower) and the Englischer Bau (English Building) for security reasons; depending on availability of places, there is limited access for wheelchairs to the Schlosshof (Castle’s Courtyard) and prior registration at the box office under 06221 / 5820 000 is required.
  • With the exception of »Red Zora« the productions of the Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele are designed for adults. Children under four years will therefore not be admitted to evening events. Productions are only partially suitable for children of up to ten years. We recommend »Red Zora« for visitors of six years and above.
