Fixed subscriptions can be purchased in numerous variations and combinations from the different categories, such as music theatre, drama, premiere, concert or mixed subscriptions. In the subscription brochure, you can get a complete overview of all subscriptions.

It is possible to join a subscription during the current season.

After six years with stopovers in the Neue Aula of Heidelberg University and the Heidelberg Congress Centre, we are looking forward to moving back into the Stadthalle concert hall in Heidelberg in January 2026. As a subscriber, you can be there up close when our Philharmonic Concerts return to their traditional venue - enjoy fantastic concerts in one of the most beautiful places in the city of Heidelberg.

Terms and Conditions for Subscriptions

Please note: The present text is a courtesy translation from German into English. In case of conflicts between the German and English version of this text, its structure, meaning or interpretation, the German text, its structure, meaning and interpretation shall prevail.

As holder of a permanent subscription, you will receive your subscription pass at the beginning of the season, allowing you entrance to the respective shows. Please show this pass to our admission staff. This pass is your ticket and is transferable. Any intermediate trade shall not be permissible. As holder of an optional subscription, you have a certain number of virtual vouchers, which need to be exchanged for tickets in advance. Vouchers as part of optional subscriptions and vouchers for exchange as part of permanent subscriptions may be redeemed for shows of the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as well as Volksbühne. Special events and guest plays may be exempt from this rule. For a surcharge, virtual vouchers may be redeemed for Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele as well as the New Year's Eve and New Year’s Concert. Any remaining amount of subscription vouchers which has not been redeemed by the end of the current season may be used for purchasing a ticket in the following season. After that time this credit shall expire.

Exchange and Return
If you are unable to make it on one of the dates fixed, please let our theatre box office know as soon as possible, at the latest however one working day before the show. You will receive a virtual exchange voucher at a charge of EUR 2.50 to use for a different show or concert. A surcharge may apply if you would like to redeem the voucher for a ticket of a higher price category, for a special event or a guest play. We shall not provide any compensation for missed shows. We reserve the right to changes in our programme.

Payment and Reductions
Subscriptions that are automatically prolonged shall be payed in one amount and in advance by 1st July. All subscriptions are also available at a reduced rate, e. g. at 50%. Reduced rate subscriptions shall only be valid in combination with a certificate entitling to said reduction. The certificate shall be provided upon purchase and presented to admission staff on the date of the show without request. It shall not be admissible to recognise certificates retroactively. Reductions shall be available for children, teenagers, apprentices, university students, people serving a voluntary social year (Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr) or participating in the Federal Volunteer Service (Bundesfreiwilligendienst), severely disabled people with a degree of at least 50% as well as holders of the Heidelberg Pass.

A certificate entitling to a reduction shall be provided for each season, otherwise the subscription shall be prolonged as full-price subscription.

Validity, Termination and Rescission
Subscriptions shall be valid for the season for which they were purchased. Permanent subscriptions and company subscriptions as well as the large optional subscription and the Zwinger optional subscription are automatically prolonged for one season if they are not terminated in writing by 31 May at the latest. Any other subscriptions shall also be valid for one season but are not prolonged automatically. It shall not be permissible to rescind a subscription contract during the season.

Subscribers shall be obligated to recognise these Terms and Conditions for Subscriptions. In addition, the General Terms and Conditions of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg shall apply.

The jurisdiction shall be Heidelberg.
