Theresa Thomasberger, born in Austria in 1992, studied directing at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch, language arts and scenic writing at Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien and Universität der Künste Berlin, and philosophy at the Universität Wien. In March 2022 she presented her diploma production »Pussy, King of the Pirates« after Kathy Acker at the Berliner Arbeiter*innen Theater. She staged the world premiere of Svenja Viola Bungarten's text »Maria Magda« at the Theater Münster, which won the Autor*innenpreis of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt, and Klaus Theweleit's »Männerphantasien« at Volksbühne Berlin. For Nationaltheater Mannheim she made the short film »Geisterspiele: Nänie« in cooperation with SCHIEFER Film. She was a scholarship holder of the Berlin Theatertreffen Blog, a prize winner at the Newcomer Competition of the Theater Drachengasse and is a member of the collective hfs_ultras.
