Elina Kim

The coloratura soprano Elina Kim began her musical training in Busan, South Korea. She continued her opera singing studies with Yoo-Chang Nah and Johannes M. Kränzle at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, graduating with distinction. In the following she deepened her vocal art within the framework of a concert examination study at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Professor Mitsuko Shirai (and Professor Hartmut Höll: Lied class), which she completed with distinction. She also successfully completed master classes with Doreen DeFeis & James Hooper, Brigitte Fassbänder, David Selig, Ulrike Steinsky and Daniel Fueter, among others. She was also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Foundation in Bayreuth.

In addition to engagements in choirs such as the Bayreuth Festival Choir, Elina Kim has successfully performed as a soloist in various productions, including as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's »Magic Flute«, Olympia in »The Tales of Hoffmann« by Offenbach, Daphne in Charpentier's »Orpheus« and as the Dewman in Humperdinck's »Hansel and Gretel«. She made her debut at the Theater Heidelberg in the 2022/23 season as the First Elf in »Rusalka« by Dvořák.
