Andrii Punko was born in Chernihiv (Ukraine). He made his first dance experiences in ballroom dancing. He took part in various international ballroom dance competitions in Ukraine and worldwide. In 2016, Punko began his ballet training at the Kyiv Choreographic College. He performed at the Taras Shevchenko and Odessa Opera Houses and took part in dance tours to Switzerland, France, Germany, Belarus and China. Since 2019, he has been attending the Bachelor of Dance programme at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. During this time he has worked with various choreographers such as Dieter Heitkamp, Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Kaya Kolodzeichyk, Cameron McMillan, Marguerite Donlon, Katja Cheraneva, Isabelle Schadt, Cyril Baldy, Anton Valdbauer and Robyn Orlin. In the 2022/23 season, Punko is an intern at Dance Theatre Heidelberg.
