Zurab Zurabishvili

The Georgian tenor Zurab Zurabishvili was born in Tbilisi and studied singing at the conservatory of his hometown and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
The internationally sought-after singer has been freelancing since 2013 and was previously an ensemble member at the Theater der Stadt Augsburg, the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen. During this time he developed an extensive repertoire in the Italian, French and Russian repertoire and in recent years has also been able to shine in many important roles - especially in the operas of Richard Wagner and Erich Wolfgang Korngold - in the German repertoire.
Guest appearances have taken him to, among others the Greek National Opera Athens, the Opera Vlaanderen Antwerp, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Theater Bonn, the Theater Chemnitz, the Royal Opera House Copenhagen, the Theater Dortmund, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, the Oper Graz, the Staatsoper Hannover, the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Krakow Opera, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich, the National Theatre Taipei, the State Opera Tbilisi, the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, the Teatro Regio Turin, the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Nationaltheater Zagreb and the Opernhaus Zürich.
