Katja Haß

Katja Haß, born near Krefeld in 1968, trained as a stage and costume designer with Erich Wonder in Vienna and then worked for two years as Anna Viebrock's assistant in Hamburg. From 1996 to 2000 Katja Haß was a permanent stage designer at the Staatstheater Stuttgart. Since then she has worked regularly with Stephan Kimmig and in recent years has designed almost all the sets for his productions in drama and opera. From 2000 to 2002 she was studio manager and permanent stage designer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, and from 2009 to 2011 studio manager at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Katja Haß received the Karl Schneider Prize of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 2007 and, together with Stephan Kimmig, the 3sat Innovation Prize for pioneering achievements in German drama in 2008.
