The stage and costume designer Torsten Gerhard Köpf, who comes from Weitra in Lower Austria, lives and works in Vienna. He studied in Prof. Anna Viebrock's master class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and received the prize of the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts Vienna in 2019 for his final project »Alles riecht und stinkt die Welt normal hinunter«.
He works interdisciplinary in the fields of installation, music, theatre and film. For the multiple award-winning short film »Gute Nacht« (2015) directed by Henning Backhaus, he was responsible for the production design. He also designs and produces costumes for the artist and singer Ankathie Koi.
Since 2019, he has been working closely with Anna Viebrock. As co-creator, his engagements have taken him to the Nationaltheater Mannheim, Akademietheater Wien, Wiener Staatsoper, bayerische Staatsoper München, Osterfestspiele Salzburg, and Deutsche Oper Berlin, among others. For Marcel Kohler's production of »Der Trafikant«, Torsten Gerhard Köpf is responsible for stage and costumes.
