Grzimek's film »Serengeti Shall Not Die!« and his message shape Western Germans’ image of Africa until today. In »Ultimate Safari« Flinn Works (Berlin) and Asedeva (Dar es Salaam) look at animal welfare and tourism in African countries from a 360-degree perspective. Today still, national parks and the protection of wild life are hailed as positive achievements without reservations. But their origin lies in violent colonialist appropriation. While safari tourism is the main financial source of income for many African states, most national parks also exclude the local population taking away their basis of life. The cast members consisting of Tanzanian and German performers as well as changing experts act as safari guides taking audiences along on a multi-perspective adventure journey. Switching between performance, lecture and immersive 360-degree film scenes with Virtual Reality glasses, »Ultimate Safari« turns into the last carefree journey through the unfathomable world of wild life protection.
