Masculinity Between Game and War / by Polina Solotowizki, Bogdan Kapon and Ivan Borisov / Stage Director: Polina Solotowizki / A project by the Swiss collective OSTsisters
in English, German, Russian and Ukrainian with German supertitles
Two young actors, one from the Ukraine and one from Russia, have left their home under different circumstances. Now they appear on stage together. But in the background, the war always remains present. It influences the audience’s point of view and the performers’ attitudes who are confronted with questions about heroism, masculinity and patriotism. In their personal stories, performance turns into (existential) strategy of life, enabling them to show vulnerabilities, question their own identity and find a way to interact on stage.
