Queer Heroes in Focus
Exhibition on 15 years of Queer Festival Heidelberg / guided exhibition visit
From over 200 submissions, various works will be on display in public places in the city during the Queer Festival month of May. The exhibition aims to honour those who have not only increased the visibility of queer minorities, but have also actively contributed to creating a world in which queer people feel valued, safe and supported.
From 7 to 20 May 2024, a selection of 15 photographs by the American-based French artist Chantal Regnault will be on display in the foyer of the Marguerre-Saal. Between 1989 and 1992, the 78-year-old was able to photograph the flourishing New York ballroom and voguing scene, thereby preserving an extremely important part of queer culture and history.
Here you will find further information on the work of Chantal Regnault in German and English.
The foyer opens one hour before each performance - access to the exhibition is free.
A guided tour of the exhibition by and with Christina Baurnfeind will take place on 19 May 2024 at 17:30.
