From the first step to the final wave: we celebrate the artistic journey of Iván Pérez at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. With the presentation of the video of his first Heidelberg creation »Impression«, we open a chapter that marked the beginning of an intense and defining collaboration. In this work, dance, music, and visual art merged into a poetic exploration of Generation Y – while laying the foundation for an aesthetic that would shape Pérez’s tenure as Artistic Director of the Dance Theatre Heidelberg.
From »Impression« to his current piece »Bodies of Water«, a throughline becomes visible: the search for connection between individual and collective, an openness to collaboration, and a deep sensitivity to the flow of time and the human states revealed within it. This evening invites you to look back at Iván Pérez’s artistic evolution, to rediscover key moments, and to celebrate the transformation between beginning and conclusion. A tribute to an artist whose work has set the DTH in motion and left a lasting imprint.
