Open House

Discover theatre. In front of, behind and on stage.

Come on in! On the Open House Day, the theatre awaits you in front of and behind the scenes. On the large stage of the Marguerre-Saal, the stage technicians will show you what the upper and lower machinery, sound and lighting can do. In the Alter Saal, there is a varied programme of all genres. On the rehearsal stages you have the opportunity to take part in open rehearsals. A lunch concert awaits you in the Orchestersaal. The painters' hall, decoration workshop, locksmith's shop, carpenter's workshop, costume department and make-up also open their doors. And much more. Go on a voyage of discovery! There is something for the whole family. On top of that, there is an anniversary to celebrate: 170 years of Heidelberg Theatre! On 31 October 1853, the Heidelberg Theatre opened with Friedrich Schiller's »The Bride of Messina«. You don't know this play? You will learn something about it at the Open House Day.
