Focusing on the gemstones of German Baroque music, Dorothee Oberlinger, her Ensemble 1700 and the young countertenor Alois Mühlbacher embark on a grand tour that bears witness to the wanderlust of 18th century composers and their predilection for style appropriation and mixing European styles. Dorothee Oberlinger follows the traces of Handel, strolls through Europe’s musical centres Naples and London, forays into Venice to meet Antonio Vivaldi, pays a visit to François and Louis Couperin in Paris and to Tomaso Albinoni in Vienna.
