Idea and concept

In the 2022/23 season the theatre created zwinger x, a new series that seeks new and inspiring ways for urban society and theatre to work together.

Zwinger x opens the theatre stage to all kinds of art and discourse formats in which we want to engage with the present. As different as the contents, formats and aesthetics may be, a very fundamental idea unites all zwinger x events: It is about making diversity of society more visible, especially in cultural institutions, dealing with the most diverse forms of discrimination, thinking about changes of perspective and developing positive visions for the future in joint discourse.
