Christoph Habicht

Christoph Habicht originally wanted to earn a living for himself and his family through pedagogical work alone, but in 1986, after studying with G.U. von Bülow and D. Grosgurin at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Heidelberg/Mannheim, he joined the Städtisches Orchester Heidelberg. Here the great world of opera and symphony opened up to him, who was originally rooted in chamber music and Protestant church music. From 1994 to 2017, together with Ludwig Dieckmann, he was responsible for the orchestra's own chamber concerts, and since 1993 Christoph Habicht has also been the cellist of the Heidelberg OSSIAN-Quartett. During all these years always active as a teacher, he has been indulging in a new obsession for some time: the arrangement of operas or orchestral works for cello ensembles of different sizes.
