Jacob Suske

Jacob Suske (*1980 in Graz) is a musician, composer and director living in Antwerp/Belgium. He studied jazz bass in Bern and Lucerne. As a bassist, he has played with Bonaparte, Julian Sartorius and Sophie Hunger, among others. As a composer for theatre music, he has worked with directors such as Lucia Bihler, Jan- Christoph Gockel, Christopher Rüping and Bernadette Sonnenbichler. These works have taken him to the Burgtheater Vienna, the Berliner Volksbühne, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Nationaltheater Oslo, Schauspiel Köln, Schaubühne Berlin, Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Berlin Theatertreffen and the Loveatfirsight Festival Antwerp, among others.
His own directing work has appeared in the directing duo Tuschy/Suske at Staatstheater Hannover, Theater Bonn, Theater Bielefeld, Theater Luzern, Schauspielhaus Wien and Theater Troubleyn in Antwerp, among others. From 2015 to 2018, Suske was part of the artistic management team at the Schauspielhaus Wien theatre as a dramaturge and musician.
»The Journey of G. Mastorna« is his second work in Heidelberg after »Shockheaded Peter«.
