Franziska Kuba

Franziska Kuba studied school music, history, choral conducting and early music singing in Leipzig and Weimar. After her studies, she took over the artistic direction of the »Vocalconsort Leipzig«, with which she gives concerts at home and abroad with interesting programmes and sensitive interpretations. In 2018, she also founded the ensemble »Neue Kammer«, which specialises in contemporary and early music in performative concerts. With this ensemble, she realises her special interest in contemporary music and audience-oriented concert formats. The ensemble has been an InszeneVokal scholarship holder from the German Music Council since 2021. As a freelance conductor, her engagements have already taken her to the Konzerthaus Berlin, where she has worked with the piano duo »Jussen Brüder«, the choir of the Humboldt Universität Berlin, the Al-Farida Music Academy and members of the Konzerthaus Orchester. In 2022, she temporarily took over the artistic direction of the Landesjugendchor Thüringen. Her rehearsals have taken her to the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the GewandhausChor, the Asambura Ensemble and the Opera Jeunesse, among others. She has also appeared in various productions at Schauspiel Leipzig as a stage musician and choir director. Franziska Kuba was a scholarship holder of the Forum Dirigieren and was awarded the audience prize at the 2021 German Choral Conducting Prize with the RIAS Kammerchor. She was a lecturer for choral conducting at the Musikhochschule Freiburg from 2017 to 2021. From October 2022, Franziska Kuba will follow her call as professor for choral conducting at the HfM Detmold.
