Ekat Cordes

Ekat Cordes has been working as a freelance director, author, musician and sound designer since 2010. Cordes studied German language and literature and sociology at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg.
Between 2006 and 2010, he worked at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater on freelance projects as an author and director and was also an assistant director. There, Cordes worked with Susanne Kennedy, Anna Bergmann and Marc Becker, among others.
After Cordes' play »Ewig gärt« was invited to the Stückemarkt of the Berlin Theatertreffen 2010, he staged the dramatic live comic »A Greekship« together with the author Philipp Löhle and the comic artist Henrik Schart at the Maxim Gorki Theatre Berlin at the »Reality kills« festival. His play »Aproposkalypse« premiered at the Osnabrück Theatre in 2012 and his farce »Gertrud goes Korea« was nominated for the Leonhard-Frank-Preis at the Mainfranken Theatre in Würzburg and for the author's theatre festival »Stück auf!« at Schauspiel Essen in 2013.
Ekat Cordes has worked at the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Stadttheater Pforzheim, the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, the Hans Otto Theater, the Junges Theater Heidelberg, the Theater Erlangen, the Staatstheater Mainz, the Theater an der Parkaue, the Theater Ulm, the Junges Theater Münster, the Theater Konstanz, the RLT Neuss, the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern, the Junges Theater Regensburg and the Stadttheater Ingolstadt.
