Olaf Weißenberg

Olaf Weißenberg was born in Düsseldorf in 1957 and, after studying history and German, studied acting at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. As part of his training, he already had guest contracts in Gelsenkirchen and Bochum. Engagements followed at Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Landestheater Tübingen, Schauspielhaus Graz and Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam. He was a role teacher for acting in Graz and for film in Babelsberg. From 1996 to 2004 he was a permanent ensemble member of Staatstheater Darmstadt. In 2004 he appeared in »Jedermann« at Salzburger Festspiele and as Lillas Pastia in »Carmen« (directed by Martin Kušej) at Staatsoper Unter den Linden. From 2005 to 2011 he was engaged at Theater Osnabrück, where his roles included Consul Harris in »Die Judith von Shimoda«, Bill in »Start- und Landebahn« and Georg in »Hier und Jetzt«. Since the 2011/12 season, Olaf Weißenberg has been a permanent ensemble member at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Important roles in Heidelberg included Marc in »KUNST«, Agamemnon in »Die Orestie«, Herbert Georg Beutler (called Newton) in »Die Physiker« and Josef in »Josef und Maria«.
