Ronny Jakubaschk

Ronny Jakubaschk was born in Guben in 1979. Already during his school and civilian service, he realised his first directing works with his own theatre group and was awarded the sponsorship prize of the Max Grünebaum Foundation in Cottbus. He studied dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. From 2006 to 2009 Ronny Jakubaschk was assistant director at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin. Since 2009 he has directed at the Theater Basel, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Theaterhaus Jena, Volkstheater Rostock, Theater Aachen and Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, among others. He has already been invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt, worked at the Festival Primeurs at the Staatstheater Saarbrücken and, sponsored by the Goethe-Institut, at the Stary Dom Theatre in Novosibirsk. His productions have been invited to the Theatertreffen der Jugend, the Tag der Talente of the Bundesbildungsministerium, the Kaltstart Festival, radikal jung, the Grenzenlos Festival, the children's and youth festival Wildwechsel, Augenblick mal! - the festival of theatre for young audiences and to the Autorentheatertage of the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Since 2017/18 he has been in-house director at neues theater halle, and since 2020 he has also been directing regularly at Schauspiel Hannover. »Minna von Barnhelm« is Ronny Jakubaschk's first production at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg.
