After studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, the Düsseldorf-born soprano took up a long-term engagement at the Zwickau Theatre, where she embodied important roles such as Tatjana in »Eugene Onegin«, Floria Tosca, Antonia in »Les Contes d'Hoffmann«, Pamina in Mozart's »Magic Flute« and Marie in »The Bartered Bride«. Later she was able to celebrate important successes in a more dramatic repertoire with roles such as Verdi's »Aida« and Elisabeth in Richard Wagner's »Tannhäuser«.

Her great success at Opera Nancy as Turandot in Giacomo Puccini's opera of the same name was followed by invitations in the same role to the Bregenz Festival and to Montpellier, where she subsequently also appeared as Ortrud in Wagner's »Lohengrin«. From 2013 to 2016 followed an engagement at the Aalto-Theater Essen, where she was celebrated with roles such as Verdi's Lady Macbeth, Leonore in »Fidelio«, »Ariadne« and Puccini's »Manon Lescaut« in Stefan Herheim's production. Further engagements have taken her to major European stages such as the Musiktheater Amsterdam, the Royal Opera Copenhagen and the Theater Basel. At the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg she can be experienced for the first time as Fata Morgana in Prokofiev's »The Love for Three Oranges«.
