Thorsten Hierse

Thorsten Hierse, born in 1981, studied philosophy and German in Göttingen from 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2008 he trained as an actor at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover and subsequently performed at Schauspiel Hannover and Thalia Theater Hamburg, among others. In 2010 he was awarded the Boy Gobert Prize of the Körber Foundation. From 2009 to 2011 he was part of the ensemble of the Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg, where he played the title role in »Hamlet« (director: Klaus Schumacher) as well as in »Die Gerechten« and »Of Mice and Men« (director: Alexander Riemenschneider), among others. From 2011 to 2020 he was an ensemble member at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and appeared in productions by Alexander Riemenschneider, Frank Abt, Tilmann Köhler and Ulrich Rasche, among others. In 2023 he will guest as Major von Tellheim in »Minna von Barnhelm« at the Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele, and from the 2024/25 season Thorsten Hierse will be a permanent ensemble member of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg's acting ensemble.
