The Greek baritone Dimitrios Karolidis studied at the State Conservatory of his hometown Drama, where he graduated with distinction in 2016 in the class of Prof. Charikleia Glavopoulou. Further studies at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts (with Prof. Teru Yoshihara, among others) were made possible by the "Maria Callas" scholarship.

Since 2013 he has been gaining important experience on the opera stage, appearing in roles such as Scythe/ High Priest in Gluck's " Iphigénie en Tauride" and Dancairo in Bizet's "Carmen" at the Megaron Concert Hall Thessaloniki, as Agamemnon in Offenbach's "Die Schöne Helena" at the Lefkadas State Theatre and in the leading role of the opera "The Snow Prince" at Theatre Kolossaion in Thessaloniki. In 2016 he made his debut at the Greek State Opera in Athens as Marullo in Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto".

Already during his vocal studies in Germany, he sang the tramp Háraschta in Janacek's "The Cunning Little Vixen" at the Aachen Theatre in June 2018 and the baritone solo in Orff's "Carmina Burana", again at the Megaron Concert Hall, from April of the same year. From January 2020 he expanded his repertoire on stage with roles such as Herr Fluth in Otto Nicolai's "The Merry Wives of Windsor", Demetrius in Britten's "A Midsummer night's Dream" and Gellner in Catalani's "La Wally" at the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart.

Guest appearances took him further to the Theater Vorpommern, the Theater Pforzheim and the Prinzregententheater Munich, where he sang the Second Servant in d in Strauss' "Capriccio" in a production of the Bavarian State Opera. He will make his debut as Fiorillo & an Officer in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg in April 2023.
