Jeremy Heiß

Born in Heidelberg, Jeremy Heiß studied music research and media practice at the staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim. During his studies, several internships and assistantships in the areas of dramaturgy, directing, sound design, theatre pedagogy and set design took him to the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, the Oper Dortmund and the Nationaltheater Mannheim. After completing his studies, he trained as a theatre educator (BUT) at the Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg. After his training, Jeremy Heiß worked as a music theatre educator at the Oper Dortmund in the 2019/20 season, where he developed and implemented numerous participatory formats. In the following season, he moved to the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, where he worked as a theatre educator in the category Theatre until summer 2022.In addition to his work as a theatre educator, he also works as a musician, especially for stage productions. He did sound design for two dance productions for children by the MNEME kollektiv as well as for »Maria Magda«, the opening play of the Heidelberg Stückemarkt 2022 by Svenja Viola Bungarten (director: Brit Bartkowiak). Jeremy Heiß is working as a freelance theatre musician and theatre educator since summer 2022. In 2022, he composed the music for the world premiere of Peter Thiers' »Zähne und Krallen« (director: Brit Bartkowiak) as part of the Remmidemmi Festival. In 2024, he will compose the music for the world premiere of »Blaupause« by Leonie Lorena Wyss, for which he will also be involved as a performer.
