Jeremy Heiß works as a freelance theatre musician, theatre educator and lecturer in political education. After studying music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim, he trained as a theatre educator at the Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg. Since completing his training, he has held three permanent positions as a theatre educator: at Oper Dortmund, Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, and Nationaltheater Mannheim.
His work as a theatre musician can be seen at Staatstheater Nürnberg, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Nationaltheater Mannheim and Theater Heidelberg. He was involved as a live musician and performer in the Heidelberg productions »Maria Magda« by Svenja Viola Bungarten (director: Brit Bartkowiak) and »Blueprint« by Leo Lorena Wyss (director: Hannah Frauenrath).
In the field of political education, Jeremy Heiß conducts workshops at schools and other educational institutions, focusing on social justice, violence prevention, diversity and the promotion of democracy. Since 2023, he has also been a regular lecturer at the Theaterwerkstatt Heidelberg, where he teaches theatre education methods on the topics of gender and sexism. In addition, Jeremy Heiß is trying his hand at writing and composes texts on masculinity.
He is currently also training to become a meditation teacher.
