Cusch Jung, born in Kaiserslautern in 1958, played Gustav with the horn in a performance of »Emil and the Detectives« at the age of twelve.
After studying acting, singing and dancing, he took on his first leading role as Billy in the European premiere of the musical »Anthing Goes« in 1981. In 1984, Helmut Baumann engaged him for the soloist ensemble of the Berlin Theater des Westens, where he became an audience favourite in numerous leading roles in the following years, such as Judas in »Jesus Christ Superstar«, Jean-Michel in »Ein Käfig voller Narren«, Cliff in »Cabaret« alongside Helen Schneider and Hildegard Knef, Sigismund in »Weisse Rössl«, Herbie in »Gypsy« and as the Pirate King in »Die Piraten von Pencanze«. Cusch Jung played Tony in »West Side Story« in Kassel, Dortmund, Bonn and at the Metropol Theatre in Berlin, among others.

Jung returned to the stages of the Theater des Westens in 1999 with the role of the star lawyer Billy Flynn in »Chicago«; the production also made guest appearances at the Deutsches Theater in Munich and the Theater Basel.
In 2002 he created the role of Harry in the German premiere of the musical »Mamma Mia« at the Hamburg Operettenhaus, then in 2004 the role of the pub landlord Thenadier in »Les Miserables« and in 2005|2006 the one-eyed villain Rochefort in »The Three Musketeers«. In 2008 he shone at the Colosseum Theatre in Essen in the Neue Deutsche Welle musical »Ich will Spaß«.

Cusch Jung has also been directing since 1996. He celebrated his debut with the anniversary revue »Alles nur Theater« at the Theater des Westens and quickly made a name for himself in the theatre scene with high-quality comedy productions. Among others, he directed »My Fair Lady« in St. Gallen, where he also shone as Professor Higgins, »Anatevka«, »Cabaret« (where he also played the Conferencier) and »A Night in Venice«.

Other great successes were »On The Town« (Rostock, 2006), »Jeckyll & Hyde« and the musical »Mozart!« (Freilichtbühne Tecklenburg) and the acclaimed German premiere of »Der Graf von Monte Christo« at MUKO Leipzig, where he also played his way into the hearts of the audience as the aged Abbe Faria and realised another production of »Jeckyll & Hyde«. Furthermore, since 2014 he has been seen in his production of the German premiere of »Peter Pan« as Captain Hook at the Halle Opera and in the same year staged »West Side Story« at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.
From the 2015/16 to 2021/22 season, Cusch Jung was head director at the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig.
He has appeared several times as a dubbing artist and lent his voice to the adult Simba in the film »The Lion King« and has also made a name for himself in the industry as a dubbing music director for various children's and young people's television programmes (e.g. »Lazy Town«, »Martha Speaks«, »Little People1«, etc.).
