Already during his training as a musical actor in Munich, Robert Schmelcher performed in »Jesus Christ Superstar« and »Working - the Musical« and was on stage with Paul McCartney (»Back to the World« tour).
Subsequently, numerous engagements took him to the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, the Staatstheater Nuremberg, Mainz and Darmstadt, the Theater Kiel, the Chemnitz Opera and the Theater St. Gallen. Robert has appeared in plays such as »Evita«, Leonard Bernstein's »West Side Story« and embodied roles such as Nick Pizza in »Fame«, Jean Michel in »La Cage aux Folles«, Monsieur Dutios in »An American in Paris«, Blind Pew in »Treasure Island«, Lars in »Ganz oder gar nicht« or Anastasius in »Die Päpstin - Das Musical«.
In addition, Robert Schmelcher works as a director and has staged plays such as »The Diaries of Adam and Eve«, »Immer wieder Sonntags - die 70er Jahre Revue«, »Zwei wie Bonnie und Clyde«, »Ganz oder gar nicht«, »Das Mannheimer Dschungelbuch«, »SOS - Wir heiraten!« and the German premiere of »Tomorrow Morning - Nur noch bis Morgen«.
