The young scriptwriter Joe Gillis is dreaming of making it big in Hollywood until he happens upon the great silent movie diva Norma Desmond. Norma lives a reclusive life in her own little world, ignoring the fact that the film industry has long forgotten her. The advent of the talkies has started a new chapter in Hollywood, and Norma no longer has a place there. With plans for her great comeback, she wants Joe to write the script for it. Andrew Lloyd Webber's global hit musical, based on Billy Wilder's film noir »Sunset Boulevard«, will be shown to live audiences in Heidelberg for the first time. Lloyd Webber tells the moving tale of a star battling oblivion – it is a struggle against age, loneliness and isolation.
