Aebh Kelly

Irish mezzo-soprano Aebh Kelly was born in Dublin and is currently based in Florence, Italy as a Mascarade Emerging Artist.
Aebh graduated from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2020 where she studied under Virginia Kerr and Dearbhla Collins. Aebh is the recent recipient of the second prize at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition 2022. She was also awarded the Dublin Song Series Prize and the Dermot Troy Prize.
In 2019, Aebh qualified to compete in the final round of the »Neue Stimmen«, an International Singing Competition in Gütersloh, Germany. In 2020/2021 Aebh joined INO’s Studio where she became the youngest ever studio member. She was featured in a variety of productions including »20 Shots of Opera«, Puccini’s »La bohème« and Amanda Feery’s »A Thing I Cannot Name«.
Aebh has sung extracts from Rossini’s »Il barbiere di Siviglia« and »La Cenerentola« at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in the 2022 and 2023 Mascarade Showcase. Aebh has performed the role of Popova in Walton’s »The Bear« at Lerici Music Festival and Opera Giocosa. She is currently preparing for the 2023/24 season where she will be based in Florence whilst also making her role and house debut as Olga in Tchaikovsky’s »Eugene Onegin« at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. In February 2024 Aebh will also make her role debut as Rosina in Rossini’s »Il barbiere di Siviglia« with Lyric Opera Ireland. In May 2024 she will be returning to Irish National Opera to sing Flora in their upcoming production of Verdi’s »La Traviata«.
